Fred Martels is a customer and employee loyalty expert and President of People Solution Strategies,
LLC. PSS specializes in helping companies achieve breakthrough business results and sustainable
financial growth by showing them what the right things are to do. “We quantify right . . . and close the
gap between what organizations want to achieve and the ability of their organization to achieve it.”

He has worked with organizations such as Pepsi Cola Bottler BRC, Iomega, Ben & Jerry’s, Enterprise
Consulting Group, The EEOC, CMC of Pittsburgh, The National Grocers Association, supermarket
chains, Western Michigan University, American Rental Association, International Association of
Amusement Parks and Attractions, the National Association of Convenience Stores, Denny’s
Restaurants, Associated Wholesale Grocers (Springfield, MO).

As a senior human resource executive, Martels spent over 25 years creating systems and processes
that propelled Dierbergs Markets in St. Louis MO., to nationally recognized leadership in the retail
industry. Through Martels’ leadership, Dierbergs was the recipient of the Arthur Andersen Enterprise
Award for Best Practices in Motivating and Retaining Employees and For Exceeding Customer
Expectations. His innovative approach to employee satisfaction reduced employee turnover at
Dierbergs to just one third the national average while increasing customer loyalty.
